Our Research on Website Privacy Compliance Gains Attention from European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS)
Our recent study has revealed widespread privacy compliance violations on websites, catching the interest of media and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), which is the most important data protection institution in Europe. Published in the Journal of Network and Computer Applications, the research used AI to analyze GDPR compliance across one million websites. The results show that nearly half use tracking cookies, and over half include tracking pixels without user consent.
The EDPS took notice of our work and invited us to a private meeting with key members to discuss our methods and findings. This has opened new opportunities for collaboration and reinforces the real-world impact of our research. For more details, read the full article here or check the news coverage.
