Biography

Jose L Marzo is Full Professor at the Computer Architecture and Technology Department at the University of Girona, Spain. Since 1978 he was with Telefonica at the engineering and development departments before joining academia in 1991.

His research interests are in the fields of communication networks, complex networks control and management, including network resilience in disaster scenarios. Recently his researchinterest includes nanonetworks in biomedical aplications due to the fact that Professor Marzo was academic at the Faculty of Medicine (Un of Girona) lecturing technology related topics.

Jose L Marzo led the research Lab in Broadband Communications and Distributed Systems at the University of Girona from its set up to 2020. He coordinated the participation of the research group in several Spanish and European research projects.

Since 2012 to 2018, Jose L Marzo was adjunct Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kansas State University (KSU). There, he was member of the Network Science and Engineering Group developing large failure models based on epidemics in which the Network Science and Engineering Group are experts.

Professor Jose L Marzo has participated to the technical program committees and chairing sessions of several conferences, including SPECTS, IEEE Globecom, ICC and Infocom. He served as associated editor of the International Journal of Communications Systems. He has co-authored several papers published in international journals and presented in leading international conferences.

Design and Implementation of a Multimedia Flow Switch Service

This project consists of developing a scalable Multimedia Flow Switch Server (MFSS). The resulting server is used to create a real-time Meetings Web-based Application (MWA),

considered as a Multimedia Flow Switch Service. The MFSS enables to manage participants media flows efficiently under a real-time meeting. The MWA provides a simple professional web application, using the MFSS services.
